2010-2011 Instructors and Desk Assistants

Tanya H. Parent is orginally from Marrero, LA., studying dance under local teachers for 16 years.  She is a University of Southern Mississippi graduate with a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree in Dance Choreography/Performance.  She was a captain/member of the Dixie Darlings, Southern Misses Dance Team, Flexure Dance Company and Chi Tau Epsilon, a dance honor society.  She performed professionaly on the coast in productions of "Viva Las Vegas", "Island Mystique" and others as a dancer, back-up singer and magicians assistant.  She has also received her certification in Massage Therapy.  She is the Choreographer and Production Manager of the Gautier Jr. Miss Scholarship Program.

Jeri N. Farmeris a graduate of the University of Southern Mississippi.  A former Dixie Darling and Feature Twirler at USM, she earned a BS in Excercise Physiology/Sports Medicine and a Minor in Dance.  She also received a BSN RN from USM.  Origianlly from Texas, she is the Former USTA Texas State Champion, USTA South Central Regional Champion and a USTA National Finalist.  She is an active member in the United States Twirling Association, USA Gymnastics and participated in the 2005 World Baton Twirling Federation International Clinic.

Ms. Kelsey Myers has been a dancer since she was three and studied under Mrs. Tanya for 4 years.  While at DXT, she was a student assistant, competed at KAR and Showstoppers and winner of the DXT Team Spirit Award.  Ms. Kelsey is currently a senior at Mississippi State University majoring in Elementary Education. She will be student teaching 5th grade in the fall at Taconi Elementary in Ocean Springs. Upon graduation in December 2010 she hopes to be employed with a school district along the Mississippi gulf coast.

Lauren Eshliman is a senior at Pascagoula High School.  She has been a member of The XTreme Team for 3 years and has previously won the Student Assistant of the Year Award.  She will be a teaching beg/int Hip Hop this year.
